The purpose of this test at our office in Fort Lauderdale is to assess visual acuity through mild to moderate ocular opacity such as a cataract or corneal scar, i.e., to get an idea of what vision would be like if there were no opacities present. This test may be performed prior to cataract surgery. It helps to know that vision improvement is possible with cataract surgery. The goal is to prevent unnecessary procedures, surgical risks, and disappointing postoperative visual acuity.
Appointments can be scheduled on Tuesday and Friday as early as 8:30 am upon request.
