Fort Lauderdale Ophthalmologist Surgical Procedures

cataract21The outcome of any surgical procedure is dependent on the accuracy of the diagnosis and the skill of the surgeon. At our eye doctor’s office in Fort Lauderdale, with the technological advances of the equipment use, we pride ourselves at being able to excel in all of these areas.

Our Eye Doctors Provide Vision & Eye Surgery Including:

  • Custom Laser cataract surgery using the LenSx computer assisted laser is the latest advancement in cataract surgery.  Dr. Richard Kalski is one of the few physicians performing this ground breaking technique.
  • This procedure is similar to the modern cataract surgery.  The difference is that the natural lens being replaced does not have a cataract and is being replaced to correct the patient's refractive error, such as nearsigthednes or farsightedness.
  • LASEK is a procedure that may be appropriate for patients whose corneas are to thin for the more common LASIK procedure.
  • Laser Peripheral Iridotomy is generally used to treat narrow angle glaucoma.
  • Laser Trabeculoplasty is a clinically proven method to treat glaucoma by safely and effectively reducing intraocular pressure.
  • Sometimes after cataract surgery a "secondary" cataract forms.  In just minutes and as an out patient procedure, the Yag laser is used to remove this clouding.
  • When  the symptoms of a cataract (a clouding of the natural lens) can no longer be corrected with glasses, cataract surgery (the removal of the clouded lens) may be recommended.
